God Is Ready, Willing, And Able

A lot of people say they believe in God..... but do you know what? That is not enough! That's right--- it's not enough to just say we believe in God. The Bible tells us even the devils believe that, and tremble with that knowledge. (James 2:19)

No, the real question is: What do we believe about God? Do we believe that our God is the One true God, Holy and Righteous and True? Do we believe that God is the same today as He was in the beginning; the same today, tomorrow, and forever?

Do we really and truly believe the promises of the Bible, God's Holy Word? Do we believe that our God is ready, willing and able? He is ready, willing, and able to forgive us, to save and shelter us; ready, willing, and able to be our Lord and our God.

But thou art a God READY to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsook them not. (Neh. 9:17b)

For thou, Lord, art good, and READY to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. (Psalm 86:5)

The LORD was READY to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD. (Isaiah 38:20)

He is also READY TO JUDGE the ungodly. We often tend to forget about that, living as if there will be no day of accountability. We don't want to think about the wrath of the Almighty God, so we just close our eyes to the words of the Bible. What a mistake it is to live in such willful disregard of the Lord's word! Do not be deceived by the lies of satan; there WILL be an accounting, and God will JUDGE every word and deed of every person.

Who shall give account to him that is READY to JUDGE the quick and the dead. (1 Peter 4:5)

Because he has appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he has ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he has raised him from the dead. (Acts 17:31)

For we know him that has said, Vengeance belongs unto me, I will recompense, says the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.(Heb. 10:30)

God judges the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day (Psalm 7:11)

God is also WILLING ..... willing to shower His abundance upon His children, and willing that no man should perish.

So God, WILLING more abundantly to show unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:(Heb.6:17)

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not WILLING that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.( II Peter3:9)

That's right.... God does not want any to perish, but instead wants all to be saved. He is so patient with us, even though we don't deserve it.

The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression. (Numbers 14:18a)

But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.(Psalm 86:15)

In addition to being ready, and being willing, our God is also ABLE . Do we really believe that? Do we live like we believe it? It's true! Whatever our need might be, He is ABLE.

  • Do we need grace?
And God is ABLE to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. (II Cor. 9:8)
  • Do we need to overcome temptation?
For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is ABLE to succour them that are tempted. (Heb.2:18)
  • Do we need reasurance?
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is ABLE to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.(Acts 20:32)
  • Do we need security?
For which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is ABLE to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. (II Tim. 1:12)
  • Do we need strength?
Now unto him that is ABLE to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy., (Jude 1:24)

If you aren't absolutely certain that our God is able, then maybe the problem is he is not YOUR God. Maybe you just believe in God, but haven't learned to trust His Holy Word. Maybe the problem is you need salvation. Even so, He is ABLE!

Wherefore he is ABLE also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (Heb. 7:25)

And God is also ABLE to keep us, forever and always, when we commit our lives to Him. Think of it.... Forever and always safe in His care. It's true!

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom. 8:38,39)

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (John 10:29)

Yes, dear friends, our God is ABLE . The choice is ours; the time is now. God is ready, God is willing, and God is able. What about you? Have you made your choice? If you have, then I assure you , God is ready, willing, and ABLE !!!!

I can think of no better way to close than with the words of the apostle Paul:

Now unto him that is ABLE to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. (Ephesians 6:20-21)
