Simple Truths For The New Year

As we begin a new year, it's a good time to reflect on the truths found in the word of God, for His words are eternal. No matter what the past year has been for you, a new year brings new hope, a chance to begin again. The first thing to check as we begin this new year is, where do you stand with God? If you have never received Jesus Christ as your own Lord and Savior, this is the perfect time to do that. He is waiting patiently for you to come to Him. If you have never made that choice, here are some simple truths you need to know.

       WE ARE ALL SINNERS

  • For there is not a just man on the earth that doeth good, and sinneth not. (Eccl. 7:20)

  • As it is written: There is none righteous; no, not one. (Rom. 3:10)

  • They are all gone aside, they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good; no, not one. (Ps. 14:3)

  • For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Rom. 3:23)

  • If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (I John 1:8)

       BUT GOD LOVES US ANYWAY

  • For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

  • But God commendeth His love for us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom. 5:8)

  • But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins; (for by grace are ye saved.) (Eph. ; 4, 5)

  • In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten son into the world, that we may live through him. (I John 4:9)

  • Herein is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His son to be the propitiation for our sins. (I John 4:10)
  • THE PENALTY FOR SIN IS DEATH

  • For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Rom. 6:23)

  • Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine; the soul that sinneth, it shall die. (Ezek. 18:4)

  • Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. (Rom. 5:12)
  • WE WILL ALL HAVE TO FACE GOD'S JUDGMENT

  • And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this, the judgment. (Heb. 9:27)

  • For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (Eccl. 12:14)

  • For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one might receive the things done in his body, according to that he has done, whether it be good or bad. (II Cor. 5:10)

  • Do not be deceived- God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Gal. 6:7)

  • So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. (Rom. 14:12)
  • WE CANNOT SAVE OURSELVES

  • For by grace are ye saved, through faith,- and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast. (Eph 2: 8,9)

  • Jesus answered and said unto him, "Verily, verily I say unto thee: Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3)
  • RICHES SURELY CANNOT SAVE US

  • "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his soul? Or what shall he give in exchange for his soul?" (Matt. 16:26)

  • "And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go throught he eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven." (Matt. 19:24)

  • For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. (I Tim. 6:7)
  • NOBODY AND NOTHING ELSE CAN SAVE US

  • Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

  • For other foundation can no man lay, than that {which} is {already} laid, which is Jesus Christ. (I Cor. 3:11)
  • ONLY JESUS CAN SAVE US

  • For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. (John 1:17)

  • And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. (I John 2:2)

  • For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (I Cor. 15:22)
  • JESUS PAID THE PRICE FOR OUR SINS

  • But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. (Is. 53:5)

  • Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed. (I Peter 2:24)

  • For He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (II Cor. 5:21)

  • In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. (Col. 1:14)

  • This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of which I am chief. (I Tim 1:15)
  • IT'S NOT ENOUGH TO JUST SAY WE BELIEVE IN GOD

  • Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well; The devils also believe, and tremble. (James 2:19)
  • WE WILL ALL ACKNOWLEDGE JESUS AS LORD SOONER OR LATER

  • For it is written: "As I live," saith the Lord, "every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God." (Rom. 14:11 --see also Is. 45:23)

  • Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Phil. 2:9-11)
  • NOW IS THE TIME TO MAKE OUR CHOICE

  • Choose you this day whom ye will serve..but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. (Jos. 24:15)

  • Seek ye the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him when He is near. (Is. 55:6)

  • Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. (James 14:4)

  • For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord cometh as a thief in the night. (I Thes. 5:2)

SO WHAT MUST WE DO TO BE SAVED ????

1. BELIEVE GOD'S WORD

  • "Verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me hath everlasting life." (John 6:47)
  • Jesus said unto her, "I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." (John 11:25)
  • And by Him, all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. (Acts 13:39)
  • And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:31)
  • For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Rom. 10:10)
  • For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Rom 10:13)
  • And this is His commandment, that we should believe on the name of His son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment. (I John 3:23)

2. REPENT OF OUR SINFULNESS

  • In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying; "Repent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matt 3:1,2)
  • From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matt. 4:17)
  • "I tell you, nay, but except ye repent,ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3)
  • Then Peter said unto them, "Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38)
  • And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent. (Acts 17:30)

3. CONFESS

  • He that covereth his sins shall not prosper, but whosoever confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. (Pro. 28:13)
  • That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Rom. 10:9)
  • If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1:9

THE TIME IS NOW---- THE CHOICE IS YOURS. WILL YOU ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR TODAY ?

REMEMBER, THE CHOICE YOU MAKE (OR DON'T MAKE) TODAY WILL AFFECT NOT ONLY THE REST OF YOUR LIFE ON EARTH, BUT WILL ALSO DETERMINE WHERE YOU WILL SPEND ETERNITY.

  • "He that believes on Him {Jesus} is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:18)

  • "So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth." (Matt. 13: 49,50)

  • And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever, and they have no rest day nor night.... (Rev. 14:11)

JUST PRAY A SIMPLE, SINCERE PRAYER ASKING GOD TO FORGIVE YOUR SINS, AND MAKING JESUS CHRIST YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR:

Dear God, I believe that Jesus is your Son, and that He died on the
cross for my sins and was resurrected. I know that I am a sinner
and need forgiveness. I am sorry for my sins; I am willing to turn
from my sins and accept Jesus as my Savior, and make Him Lord
of my life. Thank you, God, for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen.

ETERNITY: IT'S TOO LONG TO BE WRONG !!!
