Apples Of Gold

A word fitly spoken is
like apples of gold in
pictures of silver.
Proverbs 25:11

Apples of gold, in pictures of silver,
Lord, may my words always be.
Lead me in everything that I say,
And let apples of gold flow from me.

We can speak harsh words of anger,
Bearing fruit that is bad to the core;
Or we can speak words full of beauty,
Bearing apples of gold evermore.

Choose then your words with such caution,
A soft answer turns wrath away;
Soft words of sweet love and compassion,
Are apples of gold on life’s way.

Words have the power to wound or to heal;
We often don’t realize their might;
So feed your loved ones golden apples,
Each morning, each noon, and each night.

Apples of gold, in pictures of silver,
Lord, may my words always be.
Lead me in everything that I say,
And let apples of gold flow from me.
