To My One True Love, My Husband, My Heart
We were so young when we fell in love, When we dated, and then said “I do”, And as I look back over all these years, I'm amazed at how fast the time flew.
It doesn't seem like all that long ago, When you first kissed me tenderly, As you held me closely in your arms, That first time you said you loved me.
We got married, and had our children, And tucked them in every night, We never dreamed of growing old, It seemed so far out of sight!
Then as our children all grew up, And their own children came along, We realized we were getting older, But our love was still going strong.
And as each grandchild came along, They added such joy to our love, Each one of them a special blessing, Sent down from God above.
Now, darling, we aren't young anymore, We're in our “golden years”, it's true; But you still love me as you did then, And my darling, I still love you!
