Just Do It

If you're anything like me, procrastination is a word you're very familiar with. Why do we do that to ourselves? We cause a lot of our own stress by putting off things until the last minute, then having to work under ridiculous time constraints. We make dozens of excuses why we can't get to it just now.

If we have something you really hate to do, we need to give ourselves a break. As the footwear slogan says, "Just Do It!". We need to make it a priority, because it's such a great feeling when we get the dreaded task out of the way.

It's the same way when we feel the gentle prompting of the Holy Spirit leading us to do something we think we cannot possibly do. Unlike other tasks we may put off, however, the Holy Spirit will empower us to do whatever God has called us to do. We never have to struggle with it on our own; He is always with us, leading and guiding and empowering - we just have to be willing to do it.

So what are we waiting for? There's a whole world of lost people who need to know Jesus. Don't procrastinate, don't make excuses: Just do it!

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20)
