Stand fast therefore in the liberty with which
Christ has made us free, and be not entangled
again with the yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)
The more you grow spiritually, the more you realize obedience to God isn’t restriction. It’s alignment. It’s stepping back into the design you were actually created for.
Obedience isn’t about losing freedom, it’s about being freed from what quietly enslaves you: sin, anxiety, pride, and the constant pressure to define life on your own terms.
Think about it - every boundary God sets has a purpose. Not to shrink your life, but to protect and expand it. Just like guardrails on a mountain road doesn't restrict a driver -
it keeps him from going over the edge. In the same way, God’s ways keep your soul anchored in truth, even when your emotions or culture pull you in a different direction.
The longer you walk with Him, the more your desires will begin to change. Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” That doesn’t
mean He hands you whatever you want - it means He reshapes what you want. Obedience stops feeling like sacrifice and starts feeling like peace.
That’s why spiritual maturity isn’t measured by how much you know, but by how much you trust Him enough to follow - especially when it costs you something.
Real growth is when you don’t just believe God is right… you live like it.
In the end, obedience isn’t about rules. It’s about trust. And the more you see who He truly is - good, faithful, unchanging - the more you realize His way isn’t holding you back.
It’s carrying you forward.
