My beautiful daughter, my gift from God,
You were precious to me, from the start,
From the moment they laid you in my arms
You've always held my heart.

You were so like me, in so many ways
And as I've watched you grow,
I've seen so much of myself in you,
Much more than you'll ever know.

You were my greatest pride and joy,
My little girl, my heart's delight,
And none of that has ever changed,
Since the day I first held you tight.

We faced some storms along the way,
And fought, as moms and daughters do,
But one thing always remained the same,
Dearest daughter, I've always loved you.

Then when you had your own child,
It was a miracle beyond all measure,
To watch my daughter's baby being born,
Was a gift I'll forever treasure.

And now that you have a babe of your own,
You understand, with words unspoken,
How the bond between a mother and child,
Will never be severed or broken.

As you get older, I think you'll find
We have so many things in common.
And I will always be so proud of you,
For you are truly a fine young woman.

I pray we'll grow closer together,
And as each passing year ends,
We won't just be mother and daughter,
But also will be best of friends.

I love you, Theresa!
