~ Have Thine Own Way, Lord ~

Here I Am Again

O house of Israel, cannot I
do with you as this potter?
saith the LORD. Behold, as
the clay is in the potter's
hand, so are ye in mine
hand, O house of Israel.
Jeremiah 18:6

Here I am again, Lord,
Once more seeking Your face;
Asking You, in Your great mercy,
To fill me with Your grace......
Asking You, just one more time,
To forgive me of my sin;
I thought I had surrended all,
But here I am again.

It seems like every single day,
I stumble, and I fall.
And so each night, I pray Lord,
That You'll forgive it all.
Lord, I know I've let You down,
And that I've caused You pain.
There's no excuse. All I can say
Is "Here I am again."

So often I fall short, God,
And don't do like I should;
I beg you to create in me
A heart that's true and good.
Forgive me, and renew in me,
A spirit of righteousness,
Help me to be like Jesus,
A reflection of Your Holiness.

Lord, show me how to walk in grace,
And give all that I am to You;
Teach me to look for guidance,
In everything I say and do.
Control my every thought and deed,
That I may not give way to sin,
Until someday, I won't have to say,
'Lord, Here I am again.'
