 Mother's Love
"For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." Ps.91:11
I've held a baby to my breast Three times, with love and tenderness I have watched them as they've grown And started on their lives alone
And I wonder, as they're leaving me, Is this the way it was meant to be? After giving them all my love and care Must they go into the cold, cruel world out there?
Who will keep them safe and sound, And lift them up, if they fall down? I feel the tears beginning now, As my head in prayer I bow.
Dear Lord above, please answer me- Is this the way it was meant to be? Then a strong voice answers through my tears,
"I'VE GIVEN YOU THEIR FINEST YEARS. I'VE TRUSTED THEIR CHILDHOOD TO YOUR CARE, I WILL NOT LEAVE THEM ALONE OUT THERE.
YOU RAISED THEM WELL, YOU'VE DONE YOUR BEST; AND THEY'RE READY NOW TO STAND THE TEST.
REST YE NOW YOUR TROUBLED MIND
FOR I'LL HELP THEM THEIR WAY TO FIND." As my Father speaks, peace comes to me Because this is the way it was meant to be. (© 2001 by Kathryn Brandon; all rights reserved)
