Root Of All Evil
"For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his soul? Or what shall he give in exchange for his soul? Matt. 16:26
The love of money Is a powerful lure--- God knows what we'd do For a few dollars more.
Some lie, cheat, and steal, Or do 'most anything For all of the joys They think money will bring.
Each man has his price For which he would stray; For which he would throw All his scruples away.
He'd give up his pride, His family, his health; It's a terrible thing, This greed for wealth;
But what does a man profit, (As the Bible foretold) To gain the whole world, If he loses his soul?

The clock of life is wound but once, And no man has the power To tell just when the hands will stop, At late or early hour.
To lose one's wealth is sad indeed, To lose one's health is more; To lose one's soul is such a loss That no man can restore. ~ author unknown ~
