I Am Forgiven!

For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever
believes in him should not
perish, but shall have
everlasting life. (John 3:16)

I once was lost, lonely and wretched,
A life filled with sin and disgrace;
But then I heard about Jesus,
Who saved me with His precious grace.

There was nothing I did to deserve it,
I was not worth the price that he paid,
But Jesus had said "whosoever" --
That promise to sinners was made.

My ugly sins all were forgiven,
To be remembered again nevermore;
My Savior took my sins upon Him,
My shame and guilt He freely bore.

He died for me, and for every one
Who will trust Him, and truly believe;
Whosoever takes of the love that He offers,
Will this precious salvation receive!

Oh Jesus, I truly do love You,
For Your coming kingdom I yearn!
Your love will forever be with me,
And keep me until You return.

Then forever and ever I'll praise You,
As I kneel at Your nail-pierced feet,
To thank You for all eternity,
For that gift of forgiveness so sweet.
