You Want To Get To Heaven
Let not your heart be troubled; ye
You say you want to get to heaven,
believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions:
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you. And if
I go and prepare a place for you, I will
come again, and receive you unto myself;
that where I am, there ye may be also.
But don't think you have a prayer
You know that you aren't good enough,
And doubt that you'll ever get there.
Pay attention to what I'm saying:
Have I got good news for you!
Yes, you can make it to heaven,
But not by the deeds that YOU do!
There's only one way into heaven,
That's through Jesus, God's only Son,
Receive Him as your Lord and Savior,
That's the only way it can be done!
For we could never be good enough,
By our own feeble efforts, it's true;
But Jesus already paid for our sin,
Something we could never do!
And nothing we've ever done is so bad,
That Jesus can't cleanse us, you know;
He makes us righteous in God's sight,
By washing our sins white as snow.
Receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior,
Through Him your sin is forgiven;
Then you can know, without a doubt,
He will welcome you into heaven!
