We thank You each and every day,
But one special day of the year,
We set apart to give You thanks,
For the blessings we hold so dear.
For our families gathered round,
For our loved ones far away,
For our hearths and homes, and health,
And our freedoms, every day.
But most of all I'm thankful
For the greatest gift I'll ever know:
When Jesus came to bear my sin,
And wash me white as snow.
He paid the debt for all my sin,
Though it cost Him everything,
So one day I could go to heaven.
And with the angels sing.
To have a gift that lasts forever,
A place with Jesus, one fine day,
With joy, and peace, and love divine
That no one can take away,
So this year, on Thanksgiving Day,
We'll have a joyous celebration,
And we will thank You most of all
For the precious gift of salvation.
