In Loving Memory Of My Dad,

George H. Pfeiffer

June 28, 1933 - October 4, 2006

Jesus said, I am
the resurrection,
and the life: he
that believeth in
me, though he were
dead, yet shall he
live.  John 11:25

When I come to the end of my journey
And I travel my last weary mile,
Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned,
And remember only the smile.

Forget unkind words I have spoken;
Remember some good I have done.
Forget that I ever had heartache,
And remember I've had loads of fun.

Forget that I've stumbled and blundered,
And sometimes fell by the way.
Remember I have fought some hard battles,
And won, ere the close of the day.

Then forget to grieve for my going,
I would not have you sad for a day,
But in summer just gather some flowers,
And remember the place where I lay.

And come in the shade of evening,
When the sun paints the sky in the west;
Stand for a few moments beside me,
And remember only my best.

(I believe this poem is by Mrs. Lyman Hancock.
I appreciate the poem and it's sentiment.)

The song "Go Rest High On that Mountain", by Vince Gill,
could have been written especially for my Dad.
One of my cousins sang this at Dad's memorial service, and it has
comforted my heart so much I wanted to include it here.

Go Rest High On That Mountain

I know your life on earth was troubled,
And only you could know the pain.
You weren't afraid to face the devil,
You're no stranger to the rain.

Go rest high on that mountain,
Son, your work on earth is done.
Go to heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son.

Oh, how we cried the day you left us,
Gathered 'round your grave to grieve.
Wish I could see the angels faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing

Go rest high on that mountain,
Son, your work on earth is done.
Go to heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son.

Go rest high on that mountain,
Son, your work on earth is done.
Go to heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son.
