On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to
the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did
not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men
in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces
to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here;
HE HAS RISEN!" Luke 24:1-6a
~ I'll Rise Again ~He Is Risen!
On the first day of a brand new week, The women went down to the tomb, But they didn't find Jesus anywhere, There was just an empty room.
The angels asked, "Why do you seek The living, here among the dead? He is not here, for He has risen, Just exactly like He said."
They went back to the disciples, With confusion in the air, The disciples ran and also saw There was no body there!
They knew not what was going on, The grave clothes were laid aside, But they remembered what the Teacher Had told them just before He died.
He had said that He must suffer Many things, for all man's sin, That men would crucify Him, But He would rise again.
And it happened just like He said, As those first disciples knew: In three days, Jesus rose again, His words were proven true.
He walked among them many days, They had much yet to learn: Then He ascended, in the clouds, But He promised to return.
He is not dead, He is alive, He arose out of the grave! So rejoice, this Easter Sunday, Jesus died, our souls to save!
The precious gift of Easter: Jesus died, but yet, He lives; For He defeated death that day, And eternal life He gives!
He's preparing a mansion for us, With His precious, perfect love, That we, too can live forever, In our Father's house above.

The MIDI playing on this page is "Rise Again", a beautiful song that the pastor sung at my Grandpa's funeral. This song is the very essence of the hope we have in Jesus Christ. Words and Music by: Dallas Holm
