How Far He Was Willing To Go
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9
You wonder if Christ really loves you? I'll tell you how you can know--- It's easy to judge the depth of His love By how far He was willing to go.
For He left the splendor of heaven, Where He and God were as one, To be born in a dirty old stable, As a poor, lowly carpenter's son.
He grew up knowing His purpose Was to die on that old wooden cross, But He was willing to go that far, For without Him, we all would be lost.
Yes, He gave His life for you and me, His blood He freely spent, So if you wonder if He really loves you, Just look at how far He went.
Greater love than this, has no man Than to give His life for His friends; That's just what Jesus did for us, But that's not where the story ends.....
For He was resurrected from the grave, From death's hold He was set free, To reign with God in heaven, And to set the captives free.
He promised to prepare a place for us, In His Father's house above, Where we, too, could live forever; That's how much we are loved.
So anytime you start to wonder, Does Jesus really love me so? Just look back, to that old rugged cross: That's how far He was willing to go.
