You never told me back then,
That I'd never have a problem, You never told me back then That I'd never, ever fall; You never told me back then, All my prayers would be granted, Yet, You made a promise: You'd be with me through it all.
I stand on your promise, dear Jesus, Whatever the outcome may be. I trust in your promise, my Savior. For Your grace is sufficient for me.
You never told me back then, That my dreams would always come true; You never told me back then, That I'd never suffer loss; But You promised me then That Your grace would be sufficient, I could cast my cares upon You, And just leave them at the cross.
I stand on your promise, dear Jesus, Whatever the outcome may be. I trust in your promise, my Savior. For Your grace is sufficient for me.
