My Psalm
As the deer panteth for the
water, so my soul panteth
after thee, O God. Ps. 42:1
Lord Jesus is my Shepherd,
I'll go where'er He leads;
And I shall want for nothing,
For He supplies my needs.
He leads me to green pastures,
Where I can safely lay,
And finds for me still waters,
Lest I be swept away.
My Lord restores my weary soul,
He removes my sin and shame,
And leads me into righteousness,
For the sake of His dear name.
Though I walk through death's valley,
No evil shall I fear;
Death's shadows cannot harm me,
With Jesus ever near.
His rod repels my enemies,
Who seek to do me harm;
Should I stray, His staff returns me
To His side, so safe and warm.
In the presence of my enemies,
Who gather everywhere,
He prepares a table for me---
A feast beyond compare!
He annoints my head with oil,
So that the whole world knows
That I am precious in His sight;
Thus my cup overflows.
Through all the days of my life,
Goodness and mercy follow me;
Then I shall dwell in His house,
And live eternally!
