Reflections On My Life
And God shall wipe away
all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more
death, neither sorrow, nor
crying, neither shall there
be any more pain: for the
former things are passed
away. Revelation 21:4
Every life has some happiness,
Sweet hours of bright sunshine;
Looking at all the years of my life,
Many sunny hours have been mine.
And every life has some sadness,
Each rose must have some thorns;
I've had my share of those times, too,
Days filled with thunder and storms.
Looking back upon my life, I see
A lot of troubles, and many tears;
But there's also been a lot of smiles,
And many joys through these years.
And looking forward to my future,
I see the same as in the past:
I see hours of sunshine and showers,
Before I leave this world at last.
But oh! when my life here has ended,
I'll be free from all suff'ring; all pain;
All will be peace everlasting,
There will be no more thunder and rain.
No more troubles will ever be seen
No storm clouds will darken the sky.
I'll sing, with a sweet choir of angels,
When I reach my new home on high.
Yes, I have a home waiting in heaven,
One that Jesus prepared just for me;
Where the Son will always be shining,
And His glory forever I'll see!
