That Old Front Porch Swing
Choose you this day whom ye will serve; ....but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15
When I was but a baby, To my mama I'd cling As she sat and rocked me, On that old front porch swing.
While I was a young child, Just a wee little thing, I'd rock all my dollies, On that old front porch swing.
Then as I got a bit older, How my heart would sing, As I sat with my beau, On that old front porch swing.
And when I had my own babes, Old lullabyes I'd sing, As I rocked them to sleep On that old front porch swing.
Then my babes all grew up, And each one spread their wings, But their dad and I still sit On that old front porch swing.
Now the grandchildren come, And their young voices ring, "Grandma, come and rock us On that old front porch swing."
Yes, life goes full circle, And what joys life can bring: There's a lifetime of love On that old front porch swing.
