Thy Will Be Done

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count
slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any
should perish, but that all should come to repentance. II Peter 3:9

For years, I felt God calling me,
Yet all I did was run---
I didn't want to serve the Lord,
Or let His will be done.

I wanted to live my own way,
I wanted to have my fun;
I wouldn't give my life to Him,
And say, "Thy will be done."

I wouldn't listen to His voice,
I wouldn't be ruled by anyone;
I wasn't going to be submissive,
And let His will be done.

I ran, and ran, and tried to hide,
Until the Holy Spirit won;
I finally bowed down to the Lord,
And said, "Let Thy will be done."

Yes, I finally accepted Jesus,
God's own begotten Son,
And my life changed the instant
I said, "Lord, Thy will be done."

Oh, I'm so glad I finally gave in!
Now that all is said and done,
For the sweetest joy we'll ever know,
Is to let His will be done!

So won't you give your life to Him?
I tell you, each and every one---
God has a very special plan for you,
Please, let His will be done.

Please accept the love He offers,
Through Jesus Christ, His Son;
You'll see the difference in your life,
When you let His will be done!
