I Have A Heavenly Father

Behold, what manner of love the Father     
hath bestowed upon us, that we should     
be called the sons of God...(I John 3:1 a)     

I have a wonderful heavenly Father,
Who loves me like no other can,
He always reaches out to me,
To take me gently by the hand.

He never acts from petty selfishness,
Thinking of what He stands to gain,
Instead, He gives His best for me,
I can trust in Him, that's plain.

Yes, sometimes He chastens me,
When I've gotten on the wrong track,
But He never acts only out of anger,
He lovingly brings me back.

Unlike some earthly fathers,
His motives are pure and good;
He's so tender, kind, and loving,
That I want to do as I should!

He sent Jesus, His Son, to die for my sin,
So the least that I can do,
Is tell others how much He loves me,
And how He can be their Father too!

Just ask Jesus to forgive your sin,
Invite Him into your heart,
Spend time with Him each and every day,
For that's where the blessings start!

You'll find He's always trustworthy,
He is wholly good and kind,
He'll change you from the inside out,
Your heart, your soul, your mind.

Like a loving Father, He'll lead you,
In the way that's best, I know it's true!
He has done all these things for me,
And He'll do the same for you!
