My One And Only Valentine
I' ve loved you nearly all my life,,
Since I was still in my teens;
And now, in the winter of our lives,
I know what love really means.
I was so young when we married,
I thought love was those special dates,
Getting all dressed up in fancy clothes,
Candlelight dinners at some fancy place;
I hadn' t yet realized that true love
Is being together, come what may;
It's facing all life's ups and downs,
Caring for each other along the way.
True love is often simple and quiet,
Like all the little things you do;
You make my life happy and better,
Showing how much I mean to you.
And sweetheart, I hope you know
How very much I love you, too,
I don't need candlelight dinners,
The only thing I need is you!
So to you, Harold, on this special day,
My one and only Valentine:
I love you more thank words can say,
And I'm so thankful that you're mine!
