True Love
The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying,
Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love:
therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
(Jeremiah 31:3)
I always wanted to be loved
Truly and unconditionally;
But no matter how hard I tried,
True love somehow eluded me.
I never found the love I yearned for,
Until my Savior I did meet;
Until I knelt and and laid my sin
At Jesus’ nail-scarred feet,
The moment I called out to Him,
He heard my heart-felt groan;
He gave me peace, and joy, and love,
Like none I've ever known!
Jesus loves me, deeply and truly,
He gave Himself sacrificially.
I will praise Him forever and forever,
For His marvelous love for me!
He changed my heart, from deep within,
Gave me new songs to sing–
Instead of a lost and lowly sinner,
I’m a beloved child of the King!
